It was a cloudy and rainy Tuesday.I finished my work at regular schedule and started walking towards broadway and 34th street for some shopping. It was raining like cats and dogs and my umbrella was not staying properly. As soon as I crossed fifth ave in front of Empire State Building I saw an unusual scene.I saw a pair of new black Michael Jordan snicker in front of me and in one second I saw a well dressed human body lying at the sidewalk totally shattered and splattered all over.My mind stopped for a while and I thought it was not real.I thought it was a plastic doll people sometimes keep in front of their stores and somehow it got messed up.Alas my thoughts were not true.Slowly people started to gather and everybodys face were in shock.I stood there and saw a dark gentleman came running and held an umbrella over the dead soul. Then the cops and ambulance and the firefighters all came together and blocked the whole street and started to cover the body and took it to the ambulance. The crowds were whispering they heard a big explosive sound and did not know where it came from.Someone jumped from the highrise again to escape the pain and agony of life.My body shivered and mind cried for the poor soul and I prayed that he gets the peace he was looking for in life.I was feeling dizzy and cold.My friend called me and I felt little better by talking to him and venting out my agony.
Next morning I went to work and tried to forget it but it was covering my mind. Then I saw the Daily News and New York Post and Metro. It was all over the news.Someone jumped from the highrise again. He was Cameron Dabaghi a 21 years old young Yale student. He came from a elite family of Texas. His both parents were doctors and lived in a gated elite Austin(TX) neighbourhood. All his siblings were Duke or Yale graduates. He was a honor student in his third year pursuing east asian studies. He was an extremely good tennis player. He had no problems or stress and nobody knew why he did it.People had their own opinions that either he was not brave enough to deal with problems of life or he was under lots of stress from studies. But whatever it was the poor young soul was gone.He had his whole life in front of him which he ended for the momentary pain.Young souls are very sensitive to deal the harsh realities of the world.Specially when someone grow up with a silver spoon. His unbearable pain made him to end his beautiful life.Maybe he dreamt of being more successful or maybe some girl broke his sensitive young heart.
We all give our own opinions of what is good or bad and what is right or wrong thinking that it is the universal opinion but sometimes life's pain becomes unbearable and intolerable.Just like different opinions some people can tolerate it and some people cannot. My heart goes out to the family who are going through the incruciable pain by losing their loved one.I pray to the almighty that let the young soul rest in peace forever.
